[PRIVACY_POLICY//LAST_UPDATED: 2026-05-14]

Privacy.

beam is a read-only intelligence feed. The privacy story is short because the data story is short.

[01//WHAT_WE_COLLECT]

What we collect

beam uses PostHog for product analytics — pageviews, anonymous session flow, and aggregate engagement (e.g. which niches get the most clicks, where the cursor leaves the page). PostHog is configured in cookieless mode where supported and is gated behind the consent banner everywhere else. No personally-identifying fields are sent.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad networks, session replay services, or any third-party tracker beyond PostHog itself. We do not sell, rent, or share usage data with third parties.

[02//COOKIES]

Cookies

beam writes two first-party cookies, both strictly functional:

  • tt_admitted — set once you dismiss the cookie banner. Used only to keep the banner from re-appearing on every page load. Value is a yes/no flag. Expires after one year.
  • tt_theme — remembers whether you’ve switched to light mode. Default is dark. Value is light or absent. Expires after one year.

Both cookies are set on the beam domain only, are not shared with any third party, and do not identify you across sites. If you have an account, Supabase Auth additionally sets a session cookie (sb-*-auth-token) so you stay signed in — this is wiped on sign-out.

[03//ACCOUNTS_AND_EMAIL]

Accounts and email

Accounts are optional. If you sign in, we store your email address and any provider-issued identifiers (e.g. GitHub username) so we can attach your watchlist to your account. Transactional email (sign-in links, password resets) is delivered through Resend. We do not send marketing email.

Delete-my-account is one click from /settings once signed in, or email hello@beamforai.com and we’ll do it within seven days.

[04//PUBLIC_DATA_WE_SURFACE]

Public data we surface

Everything beam ranks is drawn from public sources — code-hosting platforms, package registries, research indices, public discussion forums, and public funding records. We do not scrape behind logins. We do not buy off-record data. If a piece of information is on the public web and is attached to an open-source project, beam may surface it next to that project’s profile.

If you maintain a project and want its beam profile corrected or removed, email hello@beamforai.com. Removal requests are honoured within seven days where lawfully possible.

[05//CONTACT]

Contact

Privacy questions, data-subject requests, and corrections: hello@beamforai.com. We try to answer within two business days.
